What is TCPA and DNC?
TCPA stands for Telephone Consumer Protection Act, which is a federal law that governs various types of phone calls, text messages, and unsolicited faxes. On the other hand, DNC refers to the national Do Not Call Registry, a database maintained by the US government that contains phone numbers of individuals who do not wish to receive telemarketing calls. The DNC registry is a specific provision of TCPA, which aims to protect consumers from unwanted calls and messages.

How does the refresh token work?
Any new, unscrubbed phone number data that you upload will cost a full credit (normal price). Everytime after this first upload, for only half a credit rather than a full credit, you can refresh this same data to check for any updated phone number information (such as phone numbers that may have either been removed or added to the DNC list).

Why would I need to frequently check if my phone numbers are DNC/TCPA compliant? Don’t I only need to check the phone numbers once?
Technically, you can run it just once, but phone numbers are added and removed from these Do Not Call registries daily, whereas the linetype of a phone number does not change. If you don’t have an updated list with accurate DNC/TCPA compliant phone numbers, this could open yourself and/or your business up to potential TCPA compliance violations. These violations can result in fines of $1,500 per occurrence and potential civil lawsuits.
